Welcome, honored guest!

Traci Hall – what’s going on in 2012?
Well, let me tell you.
I have signed another contract for more Queen’s Guard books – yeah! I love writing medieval romance, it’s one of my favorite genres. I’ve also *so excited* signed a contract for my brand new Zombyre series –woo hoo! This older teen/anybody really/ age appropriate book is near and dear to my heart, and the fact that I have found the perfect home for it in Shadowfall Publishing is a miracle. We are going to bring readers into a whole other world, and make them laugh, cry, and maybe get grossed out a little bit, too.  This is about Zombyres after all.
What, you ask, is a Zombyre? A vampire/zombie hybrid brought about by the end of the world. Only, the world can’t end, because we all know from our old Jurassic Park days that LIFE will find a way. And in this fast paced romantic post apocalyptic adventure, you will see just how.
We are going to do contests, give aways, story extras – you name it, and I will let you know about it. Zombyre will be available April 2nd, 2012, and the second book in the series, Mile Post 42, will be available on Halloween – bwahahahahaha!
The Queen’s Guard:Violet will be available on May 1st 2012, and The Queen’s Guard:Peony will be available January 2013
In the meantime, I have plans in the works for Wiccan Dream, the fifth Rhiannon Godfrey story, and a Boadicea novella for one of the Montehue twins.
2012 is going to have a lot of stuff packed into it, and I am so glad to be able to share it with you!

July 2011 Update!

Romance Writers of America knows how to put on a great conference.  It’s huge, it’s expensive, but it’s worth every penny.  Not only do you get a terrific track of workshops, but you also get to dress up like a girl for cocktail parties and events.  Hob-nob with agents and editors, and talk shop with other people who speak your language!  By Saturday morning I’d crammed in as much as I could.  I had breakfast at Juniors and watched people hurry by on the bustling sidewalk as I exhaustedly finished off a plate of eggs.  My friend asked if I’d gotten everything from the conference that I’d hoped.  The answer was yes – for the most part.  I’d met my agent, talked to a bunch of new editors, and gotten to know my fellow YARWA members a little better.  I made new friends, and reconnected with old friends.  The one thing that I wish I could have come home with is a clear answer as to where the publishing industry is going.  What trends are hot, and what’s not.  I believe that epublishing allows a writer more freedom to reach out directly to the reader – however, I also believe that traditional publishing has an important place in the writing industry. The trick is to get to the reader.  Online marketing, and continuously writing a damn good story.  Keep them coming back for more!
That’s it for the recap of NYC – look for more August 1st when I release Wiccan Chalice, the fourth book in the Rhiannon Godfrey series.  And I have exciting news to share about that – but I can’t tell you yet, lol
Happy July!
